ONE OF THE BEST PARTS OF COASTAL LIVING!

There’s something about farmers market season on the Sunshine Coast that just feels like the official start of spring. The days get a little longer, patios start filling up again, and suddenly every weekend feels like there’s somewhere lovely to wander with a coffee in hand.
From Gibsons to Roberts Creek, Davis Bay to Sechelt, the markets are slowly coming back to life with fresh flowers, local veggies, sweet fruits and berries, warm baking, handmade goods, live music, and all the small conversations that make the Coast feel so connected.
Honestly, even if you don’t “need” anything, the markets are worth going to just for the atmosphere. You run into neighbours, chat with local growers, discover some incredible handmade product you didn’t know existed, and somehow always end up leaving with fresh bread or pastries you absolutely did not plan on buying.
The Roberts Creek market has that laid-back, creative Creek energy everyone loves, while Sechelt’s market feels bustling and full of life as the season ramps up. Gibsons continues to blend waterfront charm with local food, art, and community events that make the whole town feel vibrant this time of year.
One of the things we love most about living here is how connected the Sunshine Coast still feels to local food and local makers. So much of what you find at the markets is grown, baked, crafted, or created just a few kilometres away.
If you’re newer to the Coast — or if you’ve been thinking about visiting more often — market season is one of the best times to experience what living here actually feels like. Slow mornings, ocean air, fresh food, friendly faces, and a cool artist and nature vibe that isn't found anywhere else.
